The roof area on this block of industrial units had come to the end of its useful life and was starting to fail in many areas. Over the years, the existing single ply had started to become brittle and was letting water track between the layers. Unfortunately, this in turn meant the existing insulation had become saturated.
Ice Roofing & Cladding was asked to survey the property and produce a specification which would include a 20 year single point warranty. As the insulation was saturated, this also needed to be removed within the scope of works.
In order to provide a competitive solution which mirrored the surrounding buildings, whilst at the same time complied with current Part L building regulations, ice Roofing opted to install a Saranfil single ply system. The use of 120mm PIR insulation meant that the u-value was increased to 0.18 W/m2K, which complied with the legislation.
Having successfully completed the project as principal contractor under CDM, ice Roofing have been asked to carry out works to the adjacent property utilising the same specification.
